About

Described as ‘that sweet spot between electronic warbling and heartfelt orchestration’, Go Robot is a UK rock band that sucks you in with succour and lifts you up with cautious optimism. Dealing with alienation and isolation, the band will release their 5-track debut EP ‘Addict’ on May 29th.

Go Robot was born in 2019 as a studio-based outlet for creative experimentation without the limitations associated with a fixed band lineup. This is demonstrated in Go Robot’s debut single ‘Smoke’ — a melancholic nostalgia-fuelled song about dealing with self-imposed pressure and anxiety — which swirls in strings, synths and drum machines. Smoke was release in August 2019.

Two months later, Go Robot released their second single ‘The Gallows’. Inspired by a dysfunctional relationship which fell apart, The Gallows is about looking back on a relationship with a sex addict and trying to understand and forgive the mistakes that were made. Described as ‘beautifully bittersweet’ and ‘an electrifying track that will have you reaching for the repeat button’, the track received airplay on BBC Introducing and was chosen as Glam Glare’s song of the day.

Both Smoke and The Gallows are set to feature on Go Robot’s upcoming EP Addict. From paranoia to anxiety, Addict is an examination of isolation — a theme with pertinent connotations in the world we currently find ourselves. The EP was self-produced by Go Robot and mastered by Steve Kitch (Tim Bowness, Scouting for Girls, The Pineapple Thief).
